The Ministry of Education has suspended online registration in class eight and JSC exam in a new notification in order to reduce mental pressure of students.

As per the instruction of the ministry the Secondary and Higher Education Department on Wednesday (May 20) issued an emergency notification in this regard with immediate effect.  This new system of class eight is applicable for all secondary and higher secondary education boards for 2026 academic year.

The notification observes under the existing system, students are registered once at the time of admission in class six and again in class nine for participation in the Secondary School Certificate, SSC, examination; the introduction of an additional registration process in class eight-JSC was creating unnecessary pressure on students and was also having adverse effects on guardians.
