Patient dies ‘jumping’ from Sylhet hospital

A hospitalised patient in Sylhet has died after reportedly jumping from the fifth floor of MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
The incident occurred in the hospital’s new building around 8am on Thursday, said Sub-Inspector Anwarul Islam, in-charge of the hospital police outpost.
The deceased was identified as Alamgir Hossain, 28.
Inspector Islam said Alamgir had ingested Harpic on Tuesday and was admitted to Ward No. 33 on the fifth floor.
The patient jumped through an open space beside the staircase on Thursday morning and died on the spot, he added.
His body has been recovered and sent to the hospital morgue for a postmortem.�"bdnews24
