After a week-long Eid-ul-Azha holiday, government and private offices, courts, banks, insurance companies and the capital market resumed operations across the country on Monday (June 1).

The government had declared a seven-day holiday from May 25 to May 31 to mark the Eid-ul-Azha celebrations. With the extended break now over, millions of working people have returned to their work stations.

Banking activities resumed under normal schedules on Monday, with customer transactions taking place from 10AM to 3PM, while bank branches will remain open until 5PM.

Insurance companies have also returned to regular business hours from 10AM to 5PM.

Meanwhile, trading activities at the country’s two stock exchanges- the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE)- have resumed. Market transactions will continue from 10AM to 2:30PM, while office operations will run from 9AM to 4PM.
