Bangladesh finish sixth in Men's Hockey U-18 Asia Cup

Bangladesh finished sixth in the Men's Hockey U-18 Asia Cup after suffering a 2-1 defeat to South Korea in the fifth-sixth place classification match held in Kakamigahara, Japan, on Friday.

Ismail Hossain gave Bangladesh a deserved lead in the ninth minute of the first quarter with a field goal. However, Minseo Kim restored parity for South Korea by converting a penalty corner in the 22nd minute.

Jaehyeon Park sealed the victory for South Korea with a field goal in the 48th minute of the match. Earlier, Bangladesh began their campaign with a 4-2 win over Malaysia but later suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat to China.

The boys' team's hopes of reaching the semifinals were dashed when they lost 5-2 to Pakistan in a crucial group-stage match.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh women's team also finished sixth in the tournament after losing 4-0 to Malaysia in their classification match held on Thursday.    �"BSS
