The National Citizen Party (NCP) has expanded its highest policy-making forum, the Political Council, by inducting six new leaders, taking the council’s total membership to 18.
According to a press release issued on Thursday night and signed by NCP office cell member Sadia Farzana, the newly inducted members include reserved-seat MPs Nusrat Tabassum and Mahmuda Alam Mitu.
The other new members are NCP joint conveners Sarwar Tushar and Ali Ahsan Junaid, as well as joint member secretaries Akram Hussain and Saleh Uddin Sifat.
The press release said the inclusion of the six leaders was made on the instructions of NCP convener Nahid Islam and member secretary Akhtar Hossain.
With the latest expansion, the Political Council now comprises 18 members. The council includes convener Nahid Islam, member secretary Akhtar Hossain, chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, chief organisers Hasnat Abdullah and
Sarjis Alam, and spokesperson Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan.
