Twelve illegal shops demolished at Kulaura

KULAURA, MOULVIBAZAR, June 16: Kulaura Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Md Anisul Islam in collaboration with Kulaura Police Station and Kulaura Municipality demolished at least 12 illegal shops built on roads and government land and at various places on Railway Station Road on Monday afternoon. 

At the same time, a fine of Tk 2,000 was collected in three cases filed on charges of illegally parking vehicles on the road and creating public nuisance.

Kulaura Municipality Administrator and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sanjida Akhter said that warnings were given through miking for a few days to remove illegal establishments. The drive was conducted in the public interest as the instructions were not followed. Such drives will continue in the future to keep roads and government land free from encroachment.
