Mother-son electrocuted in Noakhali

A woman and her minor son were electrocuted in Chatkhil Upazila of Noakhali on Friday.

The incident took place in Ward No. 9 Chhoyani Tobga Village under Chatkhil Municipality.

The deceased were identified as Anjana Rani Ghosh, 35, wife of Khokon Chandra Ghosh of the same area, and their son Rahul, 8.

It was known that Rahul came into contact with an electric wire of a water pump near his house. Sensing the matter, his mother attempted to rescue him, but she was also electrocuted. Both of them died on the spot.    

Being informed, police visited the scene.

Officer-in-Charge of Chatkhil Police Station Abdul Monnaf confirmed the incident, adding that necessary steps would be taken in this connection.
