Global technology giant Walton is manufacturing world-class, high-tech motherboards, known as PCBAs (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies), in Bangladesh. In addition to meeting its own requirements and domestic demand, Walton is exporting PCBAs and various technology products to numerous countries around the world.

As part of this ongoing export expansion, the shipment of Walton PCBAs to the United States was officially inaugurated at Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC’s headquarters in Chandra, Gazipur on Thursday, says a press release.

Minister of Post and Telecommunication, ICT Division and Ministry of Science and Technology Faqir Mahbub Anam and Prime Minister’s (PM) ICT Adviser Rehan Asif Asad formally launched the PCBA export shipment by cutting a ribbon.

Among others, Parliament’s Member for Gazipur-1 Constituency Md. Mujibur Rahman, Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC’s Managing Director S M Mahbubul Alam, Directors S M Nurul Alam Rezvi and S M Monjurul Alam Ovee were also present at the event.

The advanced PCBAs, manufactured by Walton in Bangladesh, will be used in security devices integrated into sophisticated gunshot detection and emergency response systems in the United States. The products are being imported by SAFEPRO Technologies Inc., a Wisconsin-based technology company renowned for providing life-saving security solutions for educational institutions and public facilities across America.

During their visit, the minister and the PM’s ICT adviser toured Walton’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and expressed admiration for the scale of operations and technological capabilities developed by the local company.

Earlier, the Minister and the PM’s ICT Adviser were welcomed at Walton Headquarters and attended a documentary presentation highlighting Walton’s journey and achievements. They later visited the company’s product display center before touring several manufacturing facilities, including the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) motherboard production unit, television panel clean room, PCB manufacturing unit, and mold and die facilities.

Carrying the “Made in Bangladesh” label, Walton products are currently exported to more than 55 countries across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Americas. The company is steadily expanding its global footprint with the ambition of reaching over 100 countries and establishing itself as one of the world’s leading technology brands.
