Discussion on municipality budget held in Pirojpur

PIROJPUR, June 22: A sharing meeting to discuss the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2026-27 was held in the Pirojpur Municipality conference room on Monday afternoon.  

The event was organized by the Pirojpur municipality. Administrator and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Local Government) Mahmudur Rahman Manun announced a surplus budget of Tk 79,00,47,400.  

Present at the meeting were Chief Executive Officer Boni Amin, Administrative Officer Jamal Hossain, Engineer Mehedy Hasan, and Accounts and Finance Officer Md. Mizanur Rahman.  

The proposed budget includes estimated revenue earnings and development project income totalling Tk 79,00,47,400, while total projected expenditures stand at Tk 76,75,91,000. This leaves a surplus of Tk 2,14,56,400.  

During the meeting, priority areas were identified, including water supply, healthcare, road infrastructure, drainage systems, water-logging prevention, mosquito control, and the improvement of fish markets. In addition, unlicensed vehicles and academic institutions were highlighted for regulatory oversight.
