DINAJPUR, June 27: Education Minister A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon on Friday said teachers who do not enrol their own children in the institutions where they teach have no moral right to remain in the profession.

"Every teacher must treat every student of their institution as their own child," he said while addressing a meeting with centre secretaries ahead of the 2026 HSC and equivalent examinations at the Dinajpur District Shilpakala Academy auditorium.

The minister also warned of strict action against examination malpractice, saying the head of an institution or the centre secretary would also face legal action if incidents of cheating were detected at any examination centre.

He instructed authorities to install CCTV cameras at every examination centre and said centre chiefs would be responsible for monitoring the footage throughout the examinations.

Referring to rumours surrounding question paper leaks, the minister said police would immediately detain anyone making "provocative comments" alleging question paper leaks during the HSC examinations.

The meeting was organised by the Dinajpur Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in coordination with the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board and the Bangladesh Technical Education Board for centre secretaries overseeing the 2026 HSC and equivalent examinations.

The meeting was chaired by Dinajpur Education Board Chairman Prof Elias Ahmed. Among others, Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board Chairman Prof Khondaker Mohammad Sadekur Rahman and Bangladesh Technical Education Board Chairman Engineer Md Ruhul Amin also spoke.
