Farmers get free saplings at Singra

SINGRA, NATORE, June 28: The Department of Agricultural Extension organised a distribution of free seedlings, fertilisers and seeds among marginal farmers under the agricultural incentive programme at the Singra Upazila Farmers Training Hall on Sunday morning.

At that time, 4,350 fruit, forest and medicinal tree seedlings and organic fertilisers have been distributed among 870 farmers of the upazila to implement the Prime Minister's 25 crore tree planting programme. In addition, 5 kg of Ufshi Boro paddy seeds and 10 kg of DAP and MOP fertilisers are being distributed among 5,000 farmers.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdullah Al Rifat chaired the programme. Moderated by Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Khandaker Farid, the event was attended by Upazila BNP Member Secretary Professor Sharful Islam, Singra UCCA Limited President Shahadat Hossain, Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Shahadat Hossain, and the others.
