Abdur Rahman Khan, immediate past chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), is set to become Bangladesh's next Executive Director at the World Bank, according to sources.
The Prime Minister's Office has already approved his appointment, they said, adding that he will assume the post once the government issues an official notification.
He will represent Bangladesh on the World Bank's Board of Executive Directors, which makes key decisions on loans, grants, development projects and policy matters. Sharifa Khan, former senior secretary of the Economic Relations Division, currently holds the position.
