67 storm-hit families in Khulna receive food, cash aid
The Khulna district administration has distributed food and cash assistance to 67 families affected by a recent storm in Dighalia and Phultala upazilas.
The aid was handed over on Thursday to 26 families in Ward No. 8 of Jogipol Union under Dighalia upazila and 41 families in Ward No. 5 of Atra Gilatala Union under Phultala upazila.
Khulna Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Miz Hure Jannat distributed the relief and assured the affected families of continued administrative support.
She said standing beside people affected by natural disasters is one of the government's humanitarian responsibilities and that the district administration would continue providing necessary assistance.
Deputy Director of the Local Government Division Md Ariful Islam, Dighalia Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sujan Das Gupta, District Relief Officer Md Abdul Karim and other district and upazila officials were present.
The beneficiaries thanked the district administration, saying the emergency assistance would help them recover from losses caused by the storm.
