The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Saturday thwarted an alleged attempt by India's Border Security Force (BSF) to push 13 people, including three children, into Bangladesh through the Moynaguri border in Tetulia upazila.
According to BGB, members of the BSF's Nayabari camp brought the group "comprising five men, five women and three children"to the area near Main Pillar 434 and attempted to send them across the border.
After receiving information from local sources, a BGB patrol rushed to the spot and strongly protested the alleged push-in attempt. Following the protest, the BSF took the group back into Indian territory, BGB said.
An official of the 18 BGB Battalion said the situation at the border is now calm and no one remains in the zero line.
