Two elderly men found dead on Shahbagh footpaths

Police have recovered the bodies of two unidentified men from two separate pavements in the capital's Shahbagh police station area.

The two bodies were recovered this Sunday morning from the pavements at Ananda Bazar and in front of the Dhaka University's Amar Ekushey Hall.

Shahbagh Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Al Mamun said pedestrians saw the two men lying motionless on the pavements. They informed the police about the matter.

Police rescued them and took them to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 11:00AM. After examination, the doctor declared them dead.

Shahbagh police said the identities of the two deceased men are not yet known. One of them is approximately 55 years old. The other could be around 60 years old.

Shahbagh Police Station SI Al Mamun said efforts are underway to identify the deceased persons. The two bodies have been kept in the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
