Five more children have died from measles and measles-related complications across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, including one confirmed measles death and four deaths among children showing symptoms of the disease.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin released on Sunday, 90 new laboratory-confirmed measles cases were detected during the 24-hour period while 879 measles-symptom cases reported ending at 8:00 am on Saturday.
The DGHS has been publishing daily measles updates since March 15.
The latest figures show that 94 have died from confirmed measles infections nationwide so far. In addition, 664 have died after developing symptoms consistent with measles, taking the total number of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths to 758.
