Ekota Express derails, northern rail route shuts down

The Dhaka-bound Ekota Express train, heading to Panchagarh, has derailed. The incident occurred while entering Ishwardi Bypass Station. Train movement between Dhaka and the northern region has been suspended as a result.

The incident took place on Monday (July 13) around 3:50PM.

Pakshey Divisional Commercial Officer Hasina Khatun confirmed the derailment.

She said the Ekota Express derailed while entering Ishwardi Station. Rescue work has not yet started. A relief train will begin rescue operations shortly.
