Fire has broken out at a mini petrol pump in Natore on Tuesday afternoon. Victims claiming losses of approximately BDT 20lakh taka has been recorded, including destruction of several adjacent houses and shops.
The accident took place in Nazirpur market area of Gurudaspur upazila, Natore.
Md. Akhtar Hamid Khan, Deputy Assistant Director of the Natore Fire Service, confirmed the incident.
Witnesses reported that the fire started while repair work was being carried out on an oil storage tank at the pump. The flames spread rapidly, engulfing the entire pump and subsequently reaching nearby shops and three residential houses.
Two units from the Gurudaspur and Natore Fire Service stations arrived at the scene upon receiving the news. They managed to bring the fire under control after about an hour of effort. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
