Education Minister Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milan apologized for his previous statements and announced the HSC examinations held this past Monday, specifically the Physics 1st Paper, Accounting 1st Paper, and Logic 1st Paper may be rescheduled.
Announcement came from the Parliament as students protested on the streets of major cities, including Dhaka, Savar, Barishal, Cumilla, Narayanganj, Jashore, Bogura, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, and Tangail.
Protesters were demanding Minister’s resignation, citing the government’s decision to proceed with board exams despite severe rainfall and water logging.
Addressing the assembly, the Minister acknowledged that the torrential rains had significantly hampered Monday's testing process, preventing many students from attending their exams effectively.
Reflecting on the broader impact of the weather, he highlighted that exams under the Chittagong Education Board had already been suspended due to flooding.
He confirmed that Monday's affected subjects could be retaken once the education boards prepare a fresh set of question papers.
Regarding the backlash over his earlier personal comments, the Minister said. ‘It was never my intention to attack anyone. If my words caused any hurt, I offer a sincere apology.’
