The ongoing 2026 HSC and equivalent examinations under the Chittagong Education Board have been postponed until further notice due to the recent worsening flood situation and damaged road communication system. The Chittagong Education Board confirmed this information through an emergency notification on Thursday (July 16) night.
The board authorities said that this decision has been taken considering the overall situation of the flood-affected areas, the physical and mental condition of the examinees, and the extreme hardship of travel. The new schedule for the remaining subjects postponed under the direction of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee will be announced later through a notification.
Not only the General Education Board, but also the ongoing Alim, HSC (BM/BMT), Vocational and Diploma in Commerce examinations in the Chittagong region under the Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board and Bangladesh Technical Education Board will be covered by this suspension order. However, the examinations will be held as per the pre-determined schedule in other places of the country except the Chittagong region.
Chittagong Education Board Examination Controller Md. Parvez Sajjad Chowdhury said that it has become impossible for the candidates to reach the centers due to the damage to the roads due to the floods. The exams have been postponed considering the safety and suffering of the students. Earlier, the Chittagong Board exams were postponed till July 16 due to adverse weather and flood conditions, which has now been extended indefinitely
