Dear Sir,
Electricity is essential for modern life, but power plants must also ensure the safe disposal of used oil, lubricants, and other industrial waste to protect the environment.
During the recent floods, local residents alleged that waste from the Dohazari Power Plant may have entered the Maliyakhali Canal and spread to nearby areas with floodwater. If true, such contamination could pollute water, damage the environment, and pose health risks to surrounding communities.
Residents also reported that oily floodwater damaged clothing and caused skin irritation and allergic reactions. These concerns highlight the need for proper waste management and strict compliance with environmental regulations.
Therefore, I urge the relevant authorities to investigate the allegations, ensure the safe disposal of all industrial waste from the power plant, and take effective measures to prevent future pollution.
