One more person has died from dengue in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00 am on Saturday, while 242 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country during the same period.
The information was disclosed in a statement issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday.
With the latest fatality, the total number of dengue-related deaths in Bangladesh this year has risen to 33, while the cumulative number of confirmed dengue cases has reached 10,012.
According to the DGHS, 912 dengue patients are currently receiving treatment at hospitals nationwide.
Of the 242 newly hospitalised patients, 77 were admitted in the Dhaka South City Corporation area, the highest number recorded in any region of the country. Khulna Division reported the second-highest number of new cases, with 40 patients.
