Border Security Force (BSF) on Sunday around 3:20am attempted to push three people including two women into Bangladesh through Madhabkhali border in Jibannagar Upazila of Chuadanga District. But Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) foiled the attempt.

The incident took place along Madhabkhali border at Uthali Union in the upazila. The three people were later taken back by BSF to India. According to the BGB, members of Mettiri Camp under BSF’s 32 Battalion attempted to push the three people Madhabkhali border around 3:20am.

At that time, a patrol team of the Madhabkhali Border Outpost (BOP), under the Maheshpur Battalion (58 BGB), prevented the three from entering Bangladesh from the zero line.

In a statement, Munshi Imdadur Rahman, assistant director of the Maheshpur Battalion, said that due to the firm stance of the BGB, the three people were taken back around 40 yards inside Indian territory from the zero line.
