The 103rd birth anniversary of renowned Bangladeshi artist S. M. Sultan is being observed today (Monday) in his home district Narail with a series of art and cultural programmes.
Under the patronage of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, S. M. Sultan Sangrahashala, District Shilpakala Academy and the district administration have organised the programmes.
The day-long celebrations include an art camp, an art festival for children and teenagers, and an exhibition. The S. M. Sultan Award of Honour will also be presented, followed by a cultural programme.
Minister for Cultural Affairs Nitai Roy Chowdhury, MP, will attend the event as the chief guest. Biswas Jahangir Alam, MP (Narail-1), Md. Ataur Rahman, MP (Narail-2) and Cultural Affairs Ministry Secretary Kaniz Mawla will attend as special guests.
