Nilphamari Journous Forum elects Mufdi Prez, Mahamudul GS 

Nilphamari Journalists Forum, Dhaka has elected its new Executive Committee for a two-year term after the completion of the previous committee’s tenure, with a view to making the organisation more dynamic, effective and member-oriented.

The 15-member Executive Committee was unanimously approved at a general meeting of the forum held on Saturday at the office of the Daily Desh Saradin in Paltan, Dhaka.

Under the newly formed committee, Mufdi Ahmed of Dainik Anandabazar has been elected president, while Mahamudul Hasan Major of JoomBangla has been elected general secretary (GS).

Other office-bearers are: Vice-President Modabber Hossain (Bangladesh Pratidin), Joint GS Apel Shahriar (NTV), Treasurer A.K. Shamsuzzoha (Sabuj Desh), Organising Secretary Arif Chowdhury Palash (DBC News), Office, Publicity and Publications Secretary Joynal Abedin (Daily Tribunal), Women’s Affairs Secretary Sajeda Haque (Desh Saradin), and Literary, Sports and Cultural Affairs Secretary Mahfuzar Rahman Mondal (Banglar Gonojagoron24).

Executive members are Mu. A. Kuddus (City News), Lazzat Enab Mohsi (Prothom Alo), Nazmul Haque Sarker (Bortoman), Abul Kashem Azad (Choloman Shomoy), Mohosinul Karim Lebu (Daily Observer), and Aktaruzzaman Rocky (Channel Nine).

Addressing the meeting, speakers said the Nilphamari Journalists Forum, Dhaka would play an active role in highlighting the district’s development potential and issues of public interest at the national level.

Expressing gratitude to the members for their confidence, newly elected President Mufdi Ahmed and General Secretary Mahamudul Hasan Major pledged to work collectively to build the Nilphamari Journalists Forum, Dhaka into a stronger, more united and effective professional organisation.
