DMP files 2160 cases for traffic law violations

The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 2,160 cases against traffic violators in various areas of the capital Dhaka.

The DMP's Traffic Division conducted raids in different areas of the capital on Sunday (July 19) and filed these cases. The DMP said this information in a press release on Monday.

According to DMP, a total of 135 cases have been filed in the Traffic-Ramna division, including 6 buses, 11 CNG and 48 motorcycles. A total of 177 cases have been filed in the Traffic-Lalbagh division, including 24 buses, 10 trucks, 2 covered vans, 14 CNG and 95 motorcycles. A total of 318 cases have been filed in the Traffic-Motijheel division, including 19 buses, 2 trucks, 24 covered vans, 65 CNG and 156 motorcycles. A total of 256 cases have been filed in the Traffic-Wari division, including 26 buses, 23 trucks, 24 covered vans, 21 CNG and 94 motorcycles.

On the other hand, a total of 330 cases were filed in the Traffic-Tejgaon division, including 19 buses, 6 trucks, 12 covered vans, 55 CNG and 167 motorcycles. A total of 331 cases were filed in the Traffic-Mirpur division, including 24 buses, 8 trucks, 24 covered vans, 41 CNG and 177 motorcycles. A total of 311 cases were filed in the Traffic-Uttara division, including 29 buses, 8 trucks, 13 covered vans, 50 CNG and 108 motorcycles. A total of 302 cases were filed in the Traffic-Gulshan division, including 19 buses, 5 trucks, 10 covered vans, 54 CNG and 124 motorcycles. In addition, a total of 635 vehicles were dumped and 313 vehicles were wrecked during the operation.

Police said that the DMP's traffic division will continue its operations to maintain traffic discipline in the Dhaka metropolitan area.
