Rain likely for next 5 days

The forecast was issued on Monday (July 20) by BMD meteorologist Dr. Md Omar Faruq.

According to the weather office, during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely at most places in the Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, and at many places in Khulna division. Moderate to very heavy rainfall may also occur at isolated locations across the country, while both day and night temperatures are expected to fall slightly.

From 9AM on Tuesday (July 21) through the following 24 hours, similar weather conditions are expected, with light to moderate rain or thundershowers likely at most places in the Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places in Khulna division. 

For the 24-hour period beginning at 9AM on Wednesday (July 22), light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds are forecast at most places in the Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at many places in the Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions. 

A similar weather pattern is forecast for the 24-hour periods beginning at 9AM on July 23 and July 24.
