National University (NU) achieved a major administrative breakthrough by publishing results of the 2024 Degree (Pass) and Certificate Course 2nd year examination in just 42 working days (53 including holidays). Such feat has been adopted under VC Professor Dr. A S M Amanullah.
The administration completed script evaluation, mark tabulation, and data verification in record time. The official results were announced on July 11, 2026, marking a key step forward in reducing long-standing session jams.
The examinations began on April 20, 2026, and concluded on May 18. Despite an 11-day official holiday for Holy Eid-ul-Adha shortly after the exams ended, the university finalized the evaluation process within the set deadline. A total of 197,615 students from 1,915 colleges sat for the exam across 647 centers. The overall pass rate stood at 93.53 per cent.
‘Rapid result delivery reflects our commitment to transforming National University into a dynamic and student-centric institution,’ said Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Amanullah. ‘Publishing accurate results in 42 working days demonstrates our administrative efficiency and teamwork.’
Controller of Examinations Md. Enamul Karim noted that all post-examination tasks followed a strict plan. "Even with a long Eid vacation, we managed paper evaluation and data processing systematically," he explained. "We are working on methods to publish results even faster in the future."
Students across the country welcomed the swift result publication. ‘Previously, we had to wait a long time for results,’ said Tahmina Akter, a student at Siddheswari College in Dhaka. ‘Fast results make academic planning and next-year preparation much easier.’
Abid Islam, a student from Rajshahi College, expressed similar sentiments, noting that the quick turnaround saved valuable time for higher education and job preparations.
Educationists praised NU's technological shift. Observers noted that the university, once criticized for delays and backlogs, has created an exemplary model for other public universities by delivering timely services to a massive student population.
