Four killed in road mishaps in two districts

Four people were killed in separate road accidents in Lalmohan Upazila of Bhola District and Gopalganj District in two days.

LALMOHAN, BHOLA: A passenger bus ran over a child in the Sainik Bazar area of the Bhola-Char Fasson regional highway in Lalmohan Upazila of the district on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased was Maisha Akhter, 6, the daughter of Md Billal Hossain of that area.

It is known that following the accident, the child died on the spot. The driver left with the bus after realising the incident. On receiving the news, the child's relatives and locals rushed to the spot and blocked the road.

In this connection, Officer-in-Charge of Lalmohan Police Station Md Oliul Islam said that legal action is under process in this incident.

GOPALGANJ: Three people were killed in a head-on collision between two motorcycles on the Gopalganj-Tekerhat regional highway in Chamta area of Gopalganj Sadar Upazila on Friday night.

Sub-Inspector (SI) of the Boultali Investigation Centre Shamim Al Mamun confirmed the matter on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased were Achintya Kundu, 25, son of Asit Kundu of Harichar Sindayaghat area of Muksudpur Upazila in Gopalganj District, and Ujjwal Baroi, 35, son of Manindranath Baroi of Purba Nagardi Village, and Faisal Bepari, 20, son of Shahin Bepari of Goalkandi Village in Rajoir Upazila of Madaripur District.
