Government of Bangladesh has set a 15 per cent export growth target for the current fiscal year, aiming to lift total $63.4 billion despite global trade challenges.

Commerce Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir unveiled the target at the Secretariat on Sunday, outlining plans to raise merchandise revenues to $55 billion in FY2026-27, a $7 billion increase from the $48 billion earned in FY2025-26.

The minister projected a parallel 15 per cent growth across both goods and services to achieve the $63.4 billion total export goal.

Under the new roadmap, merchandise exports are targeted at $55.2 billion, while the services sector is expected to contribute $8.2 billion.

He noted that services exports generated $7 billion in the outgoing fiscal year, serving as the baseline for the current expansion drive.
