CNG filling stations threaten indefinite strike from August 23

The CNG Filling Station and Conversion Workshop Owners Association has threatened to close CNG filling stations indefinitely from August 23 if their demands, including an increase in the price of compressed natural gas (CNG), used as a fuel for driving vehicles, are not met.

The association leaders made this threat at a press conference at Akram Tower in Bijoynagar, the capital, on Monday. The association said that the price of CNG gas should be increased. The commission should be fixed at 13 taka 96 paisa.

The association's press conference said that the program to symbolically close all CNG filling stations from 6 am to 12 midnight on Thursday, July 30, has been withdrawn if the demands are not met. An indefinite strike will be observed from August 23 if the demands are not met.

Previously, the programs for July 21, July 30, and August 23 were announced. However, today, the program for July 30 was withdrawn and the remaining programs were announced again.
