China eases visa requirements for 140th Canton Fair

The Chinese Embassy in Dhaka has announced simplified visa procedures for Bangladeshi businesspeople and visitors planning to attend the 140th China Import and Export Fair, widely known as the Canton Fair.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the embassy said the fair will be held in Guangzhou in three phases from Oct 15 to Nov 4, 2026.

Under the revised requirements, applicants seeking a Canton Fair visa will only need to submit the official invitation letter for the 140th Canton Fair as the mandatory supporting document. Previous Chinese visas, travel records and company guarantee letters may also be submitted to strengthen an application.

The embassy urged applicants to complete the online visa application accurately, warning that forms containing incomplete or incorrect information may be returned for correction, potentially delaying travel plans.

It also cautioned that submitting forged invitation letters, false information or fraudulent documents could lead to visa rejection and negatively affect future applications.

The embassy advised applicants to complete their visa forms personally, noting that no individual or organization has been authorized to provide visa services on its behalf. Visa type, validity, duration of stay and number of entries will be determined by the embassy in accordance with relevant regulations and each applicant’s circumstances.

The embassy also warned the public against fraudulent claims such as “guaranteed visa,” “special channel” or “internal communication” services.
