NCP's 'new arrangement' is nothing but hypocrisy: Rashed Khan

Tarique Rahman’s political assistant Rashed Khan said that NCP claimed to bring new arrangement (Noya Bondo-bosto) but has initiated hypocrisy (Vondo-bosto).

Rashed Khan made the remark on Thursday, July 30 while responding to questions from journalists. The exchange took place after an opinion-sharing meeting with government officials and local dignitaries at the Jhenaidah Deputy Commissioner's office.

Regarding banned Awami League, Rashed Khan stated that their politics ended after Sheikh Hasina fled following the mass uprising. AL politics have been buried in Delhi. Had she not fled, things would have been different.

Awami League will never be able to return to country’s politics due to her running away, he added.  

Moreover, Rashed Khan criticized the politics of NCP and Jamat. He urged the NCP to practice constructive politics. He also made comments that NCP politics is now being driven by Jamaat’s advice. 

Highlighting various aspects of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's political philosophy, Rashed Khan said the Honorable Prime Minister does not practice politics of vengeance. He is repeatedly advising party leaders and activists to stay away from revenge politics.

He recalled the Prime Minister earlier stating that though his spine was broken, he does not want to break anyone else's out of vengeance. The Prime Minister is repeatedly emphasizing that the nation must be built together with everyone.

Rashed Khan added that they are observing some NCP leaders and activists making offensive remarks about Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and his wife. During their "July Long March," NCP leaders made objectionable comments about local MPs and ministers.

He questioned how many activists and supporters one can control if they speak in such a manner. If someone visits an area and makes derogatory remarks about an elected MP in front of the voters who elected him, the public will not remain silent. 

He stated that the people of Sylhet and Habiganj protested from that very reaction.

Earlier, Rashed Khan, holding the status of Secretary as Political Assistant to the Prime Minister, attended the view-exchange meeting organized by the Jhenaidah District Administration.

Chaired by Deputy Commissioner Noman Hossain, the meeting was attended by District Council Administrator MA Majid, District BNP General Secretary Zahiduzzaman Mona, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Md. Mahfuz Hossain, and Jhenaidah Press Club President Asif Iqbal Makhon. During the meeting, Rashed Khan advised police to take strict measures to accelerate the overall development of the district and curb the drug menace. He also called for a coordinated initiative among the administration, political parties, and social representatives against drugs. Officials from various government departments, political leaders, and local dignitaries attended the meeting.
