The government has decided to keep retail prices of petroleum fuels unchanged for August, while reducing the price of furnace oil by Tk 9 per litre.
According to a notification issued by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division on Thursday, the revised furnace oil price will take effect from 12:00 am on Friday, while the existing retail prices of other petroleum fuels will remain unchanged throughout August.
The reduction in furnace oil prices is aimed at private power producers using the fuel for electricity generation.
Under the existing rates, diesel will continue to be sold at Tk 115 per litre, octane at Tk 145, petrol at Tk 140, and kerosene at Tk 135 per litre.
The current retail prices were set through a gazette notification issued by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division on May 31, 2026, and will remain in force for August.
