Two people were found dead in Noakhali District and Bhaluka Upazila of Mymensingh District on Friday.
NOAKHALI: Police have recovered the body of an unidentified 50-year-old man from a pond in Ward No. 7 of Tamaraddi Union in Hatiya Upazila of the district on Friday afternoon.
Police said that local people saw the body floating in the pond in the morning and informed the police. Later, the police recovered the body and sent it to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hatiya Police Station (PS) Mohammad Kabir Hossain said that the deceased was wearing a light pink full-sleeved shirt and a blue-khaki lungi. No injury marks were found on the body.
He also said that efforts are underway to identify the body. The real cause of death will be known after receiving the autopsy report.
BHALUKA, MYMENSINGH: Police have recovered the body of a young man from the Bittagun Canal in Bhaluka Upazila of the district on Friday morning, a day after he posted a farewell post on Facebook.
The deceased Sabbir Ahmed, 20, was the son of Sultan Ahmed of Bashil area of the upazila.
According to family sources, he was raised by his aunt after his parents divorced about 14 years ago. He had been missing since he posted a farewell post on his Facebook ID on Thursday.
Bhaluka Model PS OC Zahidul Islam said that locals saw the body floating in the canal and informed the police. Later, the police recovered the body and sent it to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
