One to die for murder in Narayanganj

NARAYANGANJ, Aug 4: Judge Nivana Khair Jessie of the Additional District and Sessions Judge Court on Tuesday afternoon sentenced husband Md Moktar Ali, 47, to death by hanging and also fined him Tk 20,000 for killing his wife Fatema Akhter Rekha, 45, on suspicion of extramarital affair in Kashipur Hajipara area of Fatullah in Narayanganj Sadar Upazila. 

The convicted is the son of late Mokshed Ali of Gognagar Baritek area. Narayanganj Court Police Inspector Abdus Samad confirmed the matter.

It is known that the blood-stained body of the victim was recovered from her house in Kashipur Hajipara area of Fatullah on November 20, 2022. Later, Moktar Ali confessed to the murder in court under Section 164. The court delivered the verdict after taking the testimonies of 13 witnesses in the case.
