Daughter kills mother in Jashore

JASHORE, Aug 1: Shirina Khatun, 20, the daughter of Sahana Begum, 61, a worker of Sidl Textile Mill, killed her with a mortar due to a family dispute in a rented house owned by one Sohel Ahmed in Bhangagate Masharhati Village of Abhaynagar Upazila of the district on Saturday afternoon.

According to police sources, the deceased was a resident of Maidanhatra Village in Shibganj Upazila of Bogura District. During a family dispute, Shirina Khatun hit Sahana Begum on the head and face with a mortar and Shahana became unconscious on the spot.

Later, the house owner’s wife Dolly Khatun took her to the Abhaynagar Upazila Health Complex where she died after a while.
Officer-in-Charge of Abhaynagar Police Station Md Nuruzzaman said the accused has been taken into police custody.
