DMP announces traffic diversions for July Uprising events

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has announced temporary traffic restrictions and diversions in parts of the capital on Wednesday for programmes marking July Uprising Day.

According to a public notice issued by DMP Commissioner Mohd Shafiqul Islam, traffic movement will be restricted from 5:00am until further notice in areas surrounding Shahbagh, Suhrawardy Udyan, Khejur Bagan and Manik Mia Avenue due to wreath-laying ceremonies and cultural events.

Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes, with diversions in place for vehicles travelling through Farmgate, Shahbagh, Dhanmondi, Mirpur Road and Sayedabad.

The DMP also requested commuters using the Elevated Expressway to avoid the Farmgate exit ramp and instead use the FDC (Hatirjheel) ramp to help ease congestion.

Police urged the public to follow traffic instructions and plan their journeys accordingly.
