Key witness in Khaleda Zia’s case, Jaglul Pasha, held at airport

Additional Commissioner of DB Police Md Shafiqul Islam confirmed the development on Wednesday (August 5).

He stated that Jaglul Pasha was arrested from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport area in the capital at around 8:30PM on Tuesday. Multiple cases have been filed against him in various police stations across the country.

According to DB sources, Jaglul Pasha had been under surveillance ever since he arrived in Dhaka by air from Cox's Bazar. He was subsequently arrested around 8:50 pm from the airport area.

Police information indicates that Syed Jaglul Pasha is a named accused in several cases, including a Special Powers Act case at Gulshan Police Station, the Parvez murder case filed during the anti-discrimination student movement at Jatrabari Police Station, a case related to Operation 'Eagle Hunt' at Shibganj Police Station in Chapainawabganj, and the murder case of BNP leader Altab Hossain at Daulatpur Police Station in Kushtia.

Furthermore, police stated that he is also implicated in a case filed over creating an obstruction by placing sand-laden trucks in front of the BNP central office in Gulshan, Dhaka, in 2013.
