Six more children died with measles-like symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, including four in Dhaka. Another 860 people reported measles-like symptoms during the period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information in its regular measles situation report on Thursday (August 6).
According to the report, 764 children have died with measles-like symptoms since March 15, while 96 have died from confirmed measles, bringing the total death toll to 860.
The report said 85 new confirmed measles cases were detected in the past 24 hours. Since March 15, a total of 16,740 people have been diagnosed with measles across the country.
Another 733 people developed measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of people reporting such symptoms since March 15 to 133,638.
Since March 15, 115,879 people with measles-like symptoms have been admitted to hospitals nationwide. Of them, 111,587 have recovered and been discharged.
