Dear Sir,
Biological development varies from person to person, and some adolescents reach puberty earlier than others. As young people mature, parents and guardians should provide proper guidance, moral education, and emotional support while considering marriage only when they are legally eligible and physically, mentally, and emotionally prepared.
Financial stability is an important factor, but it should be considered alongside education, character, health, maturity, and the ability to shoulder family responsibilities. Medical experts also warn that pregnancy and childbirth at a very young age can pose serious health risks for girls.
Media reports of teenagers entering secret relationships or eloping without their families’ knowledge occasionally surface, often resulting in emotional distress, disrupted education, and family conflict. These incidents highlight the need for open communication and responsible parental guidance.
Parents should therefore remain attentive to their children’s well-being and help them make informed, lawful and responsible decisions about marriage. Such an approach can contribute to stronger families and a healthier society.
