Measles claims 6 more lives

Six more children died of measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours, from 8am Saturday to 8am Sunday, taking the total number of deaths from the disease and its symptoms to 873 since March 15.

Meanwhile, 1,063 were affected by measles and measles-like symptoms during the 24-hour period. Of them, 75 were diagnosed with measles, while 988 showed measles-like symptoms.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed the figures in its measles-related report released on Sunday.

Among the deceased two died in Dhaka division after being diagnosed with measles-like symptoms, while three in Sylhet division and one in Barishal division.
