Meeting called to elect President on Aug 20

A meeting of the members of parliament has been scheduled at 2PM on August 20 to hold the election for the President.
Chief Election Commissioner and Election Officer for the President Election-2026 A M M Nasir Uddin issued a notice in this regard today.
The meeting was called under the authority conferred by Section 5(3) of the Presidential Election Act, 1991, and after consultation with the Speaker.
The notice said, "The meeting of the members of parliament for the election of the President will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 20 in the Parliament Chamber of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital."
The information was disclosed today in a notification signed by Senior Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat Akhtar Ahmed.
The notification said the meeting of the members of parliament was called for the polling in the presidential election in continuation of the notification issued by the Election Commission Secretariat on August 6.
