Viqarunnisa, Ideal, Milestone miss top 10 ransks in SSC

Parents have expressed disappointment and frustration over what they describe as a continued decline in the institutions’ results over the past several years.

Top 10 institutions in Dhaka
St. Joseph Higher Secondary School secured the top position among Dhaka institutions this year. The school recorded a 100 per cent pass rate, while 84.21 per cent of its candidates achieved GPA-5.
A total of 171 students from St. Joseph took part in the SSC examinations this year. Of them, 144 secured GPA-5, while 19 scored between GPA 4.50 and 4.99. Seven students obtained between GPA 4.00 and 4.49, and one student scored between GPA 3.50 and 3.99.
Holy Cross Girls’ High School ranked second, with all its candidates passing and 79.84 per cent securing GPA-5.
Bangladesh International School and College ranked third, also recording a 100 percent pass rate. GPA-5 was achieved by 79.50 per cent of its students.
RAJUK Uttara Model College secured fourth place, with a 100 per cent pass rate and 74.13 per cent of students obtaining GPA-5.
Adamjee Cantonment Public School ranked fifth. All its candidates passed, while 73.88 per cent achieved GPA-5.
Engineering University School and College took sixth place, recording a 100 per cent pass rate and a GPA-5 rate of 68.32 per cent.
Shaheed Bir Uttam Lieutenant Anwar Girls’ College ranked seventh, with all students passing and 67.20 per cent securing GPA-5.
BAF Shaheen College, Kurmitola, came eighth, recording a 100 per cent pass rate and a GPA-5 rate of 61.66 per cent.
Nirjhor Cantonment Public School and College ranked ninth. All its students passed, while 59.33 per cent achieved GPA-5.
Dhaka Residential Model College rounded out the top 10. Its pass rate was 99.74 per cent, while 61.44 per cent of the students who passed obtained GPA-5.

Prominent institutions slip down the rankings
Several traditionally high-performing institutions have dropped significantly in the rankings this year. Monipur High School fell to 19th place, while Viqarunnisa Noon School and College ranked 18th and Motijheel Ideal School and College 17th.
Other well-known institutions, including South Point School and College, Milestone College and Birshreshtha Noor Mohammad Public College, also failed to secure a place in the top 10.
At Viqarunnisa Noon School the pass rate stood at 97.97 per cent, with 43 female students failing the examination. The institution also saw a decline in its GPA-5 rate, with 53.79 per cent of students achieving the highest grade.
Motijheel Ideal School and College recorded a pass rate of 98.02 per cent, while 53.64 per cent of its students secured GPA-5.
The results have sparked concern among parents, particularly as several of Dhaka’s traditionally prestigious institutions continue to see their performance decline compared with leading schools and colleges in the capital.
