Why did Kangana call Naseeruddin Shah a ‘jackal’?

Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has criticised veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah amid his ongoing war of words with actor-singer Piyush Mishra over recent student protests in India.
The controversy began after Naseeruddin criticised popular actors for remaining silent during protests over alleged irregularities in India’s NEET examinations. He compared sections of Bollywood to dogs unable to bark because they had a bone in their mouths.
Piyush Mishra criticised the veteran actor’s remarks and questioned why the “protestor” Naseeruddin remained silent over student protests in Jharkhand.
Kangana later reposted Piyush’s remarks on social media and criticised Naseeruddin.
“The truth is that we are all someone’s pets. I am proud that I protect the house (country) whose food I eat. But Mr Naseeruddin eats this country’s food while fighting for another country,” she wrote.
Referring to Naseeruddin’s “dog” comment, Kangana added, “These days, hearing a dog bark is actually a compliment because loyalty and a sweet nature are truly rare. I would rather be a dog than a ‘jackal’ like Naseeruddin.”
Meanwhile, young people in Jharkhand took to the streets over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations following protests in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Police reportedly used batons against protesters during their “march to the Assembly” in Ranchi on Monday.
The BJP later observed a Jharkhand shutdown protesting the police action and demanded Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s resignation over alleged corruption in Jharkhand Public Service Commission recruitment examinations.
