The government is making its utmost efforts to address the ongoing gas and electricity crisis, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit said on Wednesday, adding that the power situation is expected to improve somewhat from this evening.
Expressing regret over the severe public suffering, he said the situation had become complicated as LNG could not be unloaded at Summit’s terminal due to adverse weather conditions, while the Excelerate terminal could not be operated at full capacity.
The state minister made the remarks while speaking to journalists at the Secretariat on Wednesday.
While asking about the gas and electricity situation, Anindya Islam said, ''You are reporting in the media about the current situation and the fact that we are making our utmost efforts to tackle the crisis. It is difficult for us to give a specific timeline.''
