Neela Chowdhury opens up about Salman-Shabnur pair

Neela Chowdhury, Salman Shah’s mother opened up about the nature of her son’s relationship with his frequent co-star, Shabnur.
In the history of Dhallywood, no other on-screen duos were as celebrated as Salman Shah and Shabnur. No one else could match their on-screen chemistry that brought their character to life to the point where some speculated about the nature of their relationship off-screen.
Even three decades after Salman’s death, people continued to speculate on whether or not they were romantically involved, so the true nature of their relationship is up in the air.
However, Salman’s mother, Neela Chowdhury opened up about the nature of their relationship and claimed it is not what it seems.
These remarks came out after the actor Don Haque was arrested due to alleged connection with Salman’s murder case.
According to Neela Chowdhury, Salman Shah and Shabnur’s relationship were never romantic, saying that Salman cared for her like a sister than a lover.
She added that Shabnur was dependent on Salman and Salman would support her in ways. Neela Chowdhury believed that they developed a sibling-like relationship.
Moreover, Shabnur has consistently denied having a romantic relationship with Salman Shah, claiming that she never considered him as a lover and instead respected and cared for him like an older brother.
She too, like Neela Chowdhury, suggested that rumors and stories about their supposed romantic relationship came from their close friendship and on-screen chemistry.
Although Salman Shah died on 6th September 1996, yet his legacy endures. Be it from his movies, his influence on other actors, or rumors around his relationship with Shabnur, Salman Shah has secured a special spot in the hearts of the 90s Bengali era.
