Actress Ridhika’s boyfriend arrested over death

Police have arrested the boyfriend of actress and model Ridhika Ridhi after her mother filed a case accusing him of abetting her daughter’s suicide.

Hasibur Rahman was named as an accused in the case filed on Saturday in connection with the recovery of Ridhika’s body from a house in the capital’s Bhatara area.

Bhatara Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mazharul Islam confirmed the arrest on Sunday morning, saying Hasibur had been sent to court.

Police said Ridhika was found dead at a house in Bhatara on Saturday morning after reportedly arguing with her boyfriend during a video call.

Although the incident initially appeared to be a suicide, police said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.

Ridhika had appeared in several television dramas and also worked as a model. Her notable works include Manush Vikhta, Bahurupi, Double Honeymoon and Sundari.
