A mobile court has fined three private hospitals and diagnostic centers in Munshiganj a total of Tk 75,000 following an inspection drive.
The operation was conducted at healthcare facilities by Munshiganj Civil Surgeon Dr. Sajeda Begum and Executive Magistrate Munna Khatun of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in the district town on Monday.
During the inspection, Nipun Diagnostic Center was fined Tk 30,000 for charging more than the government-fixed price for dengue tests and for not having a laboratory technician.
Modern Diagnostic Center, Branch-2 was fined Tk 15,000 for not having an X-ray technologist, lacking the required certification, and failing to renew its license.
In addition, Nurjahan Hospital was fined Tk 30,000 for having an insufficient number of diploma nurses and irregularities in the required documents.
Civil Surgeon Sajeda Begum said "the inspection drive against healthcare facilities that have failed to renew their licenses will continue. If a clinic fails to renew its license for a long period, it may be shut down if necessary.
