Pledges to prioritise customer complaints,feedback

A public hearing “Telecommunication Services and Activities of the Regulatory Authority” was held on Wednesday to improve the quality of telecommunications and digital services, protect customer rights and ensure accountability of service providers.

The hearing was organised Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) in the morning at the BTRC building in the capital’s  Agargaon. BTRC Spectrum Division Commissioner Mahmud Hossain chaired the hearing.

It was moderatd by Systems and Services Division Director General Brigadier General Shahzad Parvez Miahuddin. 

Held online with participators from customers, service providers, relevant stakeholders and media representatives, the hearing addressed various questions, complaints and opinions regarding the quality of telecommunications services, network coverage, call drops, internet speed and prices, mobile data and voice service charges, and customer service.

A total of 2,990 customers registered online for the hearing between July 17 and 27. Of them, 1,047 were professionals, 638 were students and 172 were women.

Among the complaints, opinions and questions submitted, 1,045 were related to the Systems and Services Division, 844 to the Engineering and Operations Division, 63 to the Spectrum Division, 19 to the Legal and Licensing Division and five to the Enforcement and Inspection Directorate.
